America's Main Street

The current crisis on Wall Street is spilling onto Main Street.

We Americans are now facing the absolute worst financial crisis in our time.

As we go through our lives trying to live normally, we now face what has happened to America as a result of our government not regulating the financial entities. Wall street has now compounded the current crisis by the lack of corporate governance.

Our lawmakers need to wake up and repeal all of the current administrations non-oversight and install a nonpartisan commission with absolute power to regulate the corporate compensation to the executives and instill in them the need to govern on a more transparent theme. By doing this they can then show to the public a more ethical and equal governance of our corporations.

The current "bail out" of Wall St. has overflowed onto the Main Street by making all of their past mistakes of corrupt governance and disillusionment extend to every citizen in the USA. We Americans expect more than this. We expect that the corporations perform and act responsibly under the laws of the land and nothing less.

Our elected officials need to bring back strong regulation and enact laws to keep this from occurring again. In the meantime, we Americans need to take a serious look at the current elected officials and remove from office those who are involved in some of these corporations that have taken unapproved gifts and favors from them. We expect our elected officials to represent the people who voted them in office.

The current prices we pay for everything is now far above what our ability to keep paying is. As time passes, we Americans need a break on most of these high rising prices. The ones of us who are living on very modest incomes are being hit the absolute hardest because we have a fixed income without the ability to get any more.

I call on all Americans to keep a close eye on our Main Streets across America and contact the elected officials in both state and federal offices and express to them the prices and problems you are facing.

Lets hope the powers that be come up with a plan to patch our sinking ship. What has happened to good old common sense? Everybody spending beyond their means and the banks handing money to them on a golden platter. Didn't we know we would pay through the nose for such nonsense? Apparently not!
