Advances in communication technologies are being adopted by Human Resource pros around the globe in record numbers.

It’s raining jobs. Or so it seems in several parts of the world. Especially in the USA, India, China and some European countries where established industries and new age industries are both creating jobs.

The professionals required to fill these jobs or vacancies are not always found in the host country that is creating these jobs. Professionals to fill up these positions have to be sourced from other regions within the same country or in many cases from other countries. For example the huge demand for English teachers in Eastern Europe, China and Japan is being filled by professionals from India and England.

This is because both these countries have a large number of people proficient in English. Software jobs in the US in the late 90’s were being filled up by Indians while today Japan is doing the same. Steel industries in the break away republics of Russia are today trying to recruit professionals from the iron and steel industry in India.

It is difficult for head hunters to travel to different parts of the world to hire quality personnel. It is too expensive and the net is to narrow at any given point of time. In many cases the information does not reach the pool of skilled professionals. The traditional way of collecting applications and indulging in the multi-level process of interviewing and selecting the right candidates takes too long.

Today business is moving at a break-neck speed and no job, even at a lower level is filled by a candidate of low quality or lack of suitability to the situation. Vacancies have to fill up quickly. This is why internet recruiting is indispensable to all parties involved in the hiring process, job creation, and recruitment. The Internet provides an opportunity to organizations to advertise vacancies in their ranks in any part of the world to attract potential employees anywhere in the world.

Candidates seeking jobs can search for jobs in any corner of the world. Through websites organizations any number of relevant information can be made public in an instant. Potential candidates can access the information they need in the next instant. Applications and resumes can be sent via the Internet and even online interviews conducted.

Salary, work environment and fringe benefits can be communicated and discussed on the net. Thanks to web cam, the candidate can be seen in flesh by the prospective employer. These days the entire process of recruitment and hiring is completed in real time thanks to the technologies offered by the Internet.

Human Resource professionals have a magic recruiting weapon with the online technologies at their disposal. We can search for required personnel from any talent pool anywhere in the world. We can process more applications that they could do ever before. Documentation retrieval is also possible through online technologies.

Speed is what makes online recruiting a force of nature. Gone are those days when jobs would be vacant for lack of applications. Today everything happens fast and furious. Human Resource professionals use online technologies to source quality manpower geographical limitations. The recruiting world has indeed shrunk and will do so in future.
