Top 10 Concept Cars

Did you know there is a hidden world of automobiles that most car-enthusiasts know about but is more unknown to the regular public who do not keep track of cars?

Yes... concept cars are made by almost every manufacturer currently marketing today.

These cars are designed and built for months or even years, and after the prototype is finished… they are debuted at all auto shows around the world.

However, they are not a look at what is going on the market next fall. They are rather a look into the future of the company.

The developers pay close attention to the public reactions to the concept car or prototype so they can figure out which design ideas to keep and which ones to scrap.

The following is a list of popular new age concept cars:

Acura Advanced S

Lamborghini Miura Concept

Lamborghini S Concept

Dodge Demon Concept

Ferrari GG50

Jaguar CX-F

Mercedes Benz SLR 722

Audi R-Zero

Chrysler ME-412 Concept

Chrysler Firepower

That concludes a small list of popular concepts. Thank you for reading.

If your going to show only sport car concepts, you should name the article "Top ten concept SPORTS cars"...

Can't believe you have that ugly horrible looking Dodge on this list with all the other beautiful cars.

Dear Dodge, please get some good design and quit using that atrocious front end/grille. Signed, the World.

Mercedes Benz SLR 722 is a real car. It is not just a concept car.

Mercedes Benz SLR 722 is a real production car. It is not just a concept car.

The Lambo Miura is pretty ugly. I hope they never produce that car, it looks like a Thunderbird 2000. God knows this car was ugly. I wouldn't want to be caught dead in one of those.

Go back to drawing nice car Lambo, this is the kind of car that can destroy a franchise.

Um..
Alot of these are OLD concept cars.
These arent the top 10, this is a personal top 10 I take it.

Dodge Demon or Dodge S2000?
#8 by Oliver, Jul 18, 2007
The SLR 722 is definitely in production. And also this post is full of other errors. Nevermind, it doesn't take much to be on the front page of Digg anymore.

Cool cars, shame they're really bad for the environment and there are no clear roads to drive them on and you'll get pulled over by the police every 5 minutes in the states probably. Also I wouldn't dare park them anywhere that wasn't like fort knox.

Most of this stuff is very, very old (the Chrysler's, the Audi). The only recent, interesting item is the Demon ... but it doesn't seem to fit into the list of the ones you've chosen. What about the Chrysler Atlantic?

Also the SLR 722 is no concept - it's a bona fide car.

@ Erik

You're all alone man, so much for the world.

I really don't like the Miura.

This list is completely wrong. The Chrysler ME412 is at least a 2 year old concept, the Lamborghini S Concept is another re-hash of the constant updating of bodywork done to the Murcielago and Gallardo, the Mercedes McLaren SLR722 is already out (I've seen it in person), and the Dodge Demon is on its way to production line status.

@ Red: How many concept minivans do you ever catch sight of in any publication? That bizarre party on wheels Ford made a few months ago? And what before that...

@ Guyon: The Miuria was the first Lamborghini sports car ever built. This is a resurrection of that spirit. No one said it was pretty though, heh.

@ 3apa3a: The companies are looking for reactions, such as your own. From an objective standpoint, comments like those stifle progressive design, and alas we shall always have the 4 doors, 4 wheels, general layout of vehicles as we know them today.

As an aside, does anyone like the lines going down the Chrysler's hoods? They did this with the Crossfire, and that is the only thing holding me back from possibly liking it.

Also, I'd drool all over creation to see the Acura on the streets.

Thank you for commenting......all of you.......however "top ten concept cars was not my original title.......i was surprised to see the "editor" changed it..........this post was to inform the people who dont keep track of autoshows......yes i know the mercedes is now in production and the ME-412 is old but i compiled that list to just give people who didnt know about these concepts a sample of what was and is out there........what i meant by modern was not the old 1980 concepts ........also more modern looking or revolutionary concepts........sorry

Dodge uses that grille because it's their trademark. You don't have to like it but many people do. Stop complaining and GET OVER IT!!!
