This means that we all have trouble deciding what is best for ourselves, much less anybody else. There would not be fixable disorders such as drug addiction, alcoholism, and eating disorders if we all made the best decisions. Also, having the vision to see where one of those paths is going to lead is again a problem for a lot of people.
If they could see how bad their addiction was going to be after a year maybe they would not start in the first place. There are those that can distinguish the wrong path with out having to see the end result and in consequence make the right decisions. This all sounds so easy, but people go down those wrong paths everyday and from every background.
Going back to the movie Alexander, it can be seen that Alexander had great vision. He can see very well what is going to expand his empire and what is not. It might be said that he was simply greedy and that this was his downfall, however he was doing what he thought was best for the Greek culture and the rest of the world. The whole time he was expanding the Greek empire he had many people who told him he would not be successful with his plans and that he should do something else.
Alexander did not let this deter him from his vision or even second guess his instincts. This is a great example of the vision of an exceptional leader. He had definable goals for his empire and took the necessary steps to completing them. The many small goals that he completed on his way to completing larger ones are a great lesson for the people that get overwhelmed by their long term goals.
There has been a long-standing controversy in the world of psychology about what makes us who we are. Is it the nature that we are born with or is it the nurturing or lack there of from our respective environments? Is someone going to be a murderer from birth or are they driven to do it by people around them? Is a man born heterosexual or homosexual? Is this a conscientious decision out of logic or does it all depend on how they were raised growing up? These are difficult questions that have been very complicated to answer for a very long time.
The majority of scientists believe that it is not just a question of nature vs. nurture but of nature and nurture. It is important to find out exactly how they affect each other. We are all definitely born with certain traits that affect everything from our interests to abilities to looks. Then when we are growing up something else happens.
A person who grows up listening to hip hop likes hip hop. A person who listens to country likes country. A person, who can hardly draw, practices and practices until they are a good artist. Of course they are not, however, a great artist. The point is that it takes a little bit of both. A person can usually become a better leader, except there are natural boundaries that are impossible to be broken.
