How to Diversify Your Product Line

Want to sell more products? Diversify your product line!

Sales professionals know that in order to sell a product you must have a product that people want to buy. In France for example, there are many many restaurants. You find many restaurants in tourist cities around the world. Food is a product that everybody needs and everybody want to buy.

To be a tourist capital, you must have a great and recognizable cuisine. Now American cuisine is a cuisine, and with the help of professional and celebrity chefs like Emeril and Rachel Ray and others American cuisine, identified with many of the great cities, is becoming a well-known and well-recognized cuisine.

Food is a product. Many people interested in selling include food among their products. Go to Wal-mart, for example. Among the many products you can purchase, you can also purchase food. Food, clothing, personal care products, and household products are among the types of products that people buy most. So if you are seeking to have a store, online or offline, then here is a product line. In addition, people shop for gifts, and so stores like Wal-mart have products especially for gift shopping, traditional gifts and novelty items.

This is the same as online. The types of products that people purchase mostly offline, they are going to purchase online also. There is much food marketing online, clothing shopping, personal care products shopping, household products shopping and softing for gift items, traditional and novelty gifts.

You can set up an online store easily and for free that already has this diversity of products line. We recommend the following:

Other popular products are products for those who like to travel. There are travel versions of certain items, such as foods, personal care products, travel books and guides, travel games for children, etc. Gift shops for travelers.

Even though you diversity your product line, nevertheless, you should have certain focus items, that are your best seller items, that you can use to help promote your store and your other products.

First, decide what is it that you yourself like to sell and are good at selling:

  • Books
  • Apparel & Accessories
  • Music, Movies, Videos
  • Toys & Hobbies
  • Electronics
  • Jewelry & Watches

Among these are there specific items. Perhaps you like to sell Disney Jewelry for children. Then when you promote your store, you can promote the Disney Jewelry for children items.

Go online and find the free classifieds ads websites. Make a list of about a dozen of these. Begin advertising.

Advertise in:

  • Newsletters
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers

Begin first with the cheapest paid advertising according to your budget. You can use advertising codes so that you can find out whether your advertising is working.

Concentrate on the types of ads that work for your product line.

In addition, you should continue to ask customers what types of products are they interested in. This is what many of the successful companies do. They want to hear from their customers. Let's say you have a fast-food store. Even though your customers like your foods, they let you know they also want nutritious fast-foods. Listen to your customers. Come up with nutritious fast-foods that are still fast-foods but that are good for your customers.

Add fruit and vegetable cups to the traditional fast food items. Include whole wheat or whole rice pizza dough. Include vegetarian pizzas with spinach and feta cheese.

Do these items sell?

Maybe you have a "make your own pizza" shop where customers can select their toppings and create your own pizzas, which are then cooked for them.

Asking customers what they want is another manner of diversifying your product line. Make sure what the customer wants, however, is legal and ethical. What is the legal, ethical, and most nutritious/wholesome variety of a product?
