When you're sitting there, listening to your favorite CD, do you ever think about what went into that disc, all of the effort, the time, and the money? If you never have, then prepare to start thinking!
To make a CD, you just don't go into a studio and start recording, you need a band to make music in the first place! Depending on the type of music, usual bands have from 3 to 5 people, but that can be altered. After you have the band, there needs to be the music that's going on the CD.
The music is, as you probably can figure out, the most important part of the whole CD. Usually a CD has about 12 songs on it, but that can range from 1 to even 32! Along with the songs, there is also the CD cover. The cover is the first thing that will be seen by the people buying the disc.
When the band is brought together, and the songs are written, the band must find a recorder. Recorders are the people who can record, edit, and add to the music the band has made. Without this person (or people) the artists would not be able to have any CDs on the market today. After the recording, the CD is now ready to be marketed.
Marketing is the most difficult and expensive part of making a CD. The first obstacle the band must overcome is to get an advertisement group who will advertise their work. Before that can actually happen, there is one thing to do, find out who would listen to your music.
The way you can do this is by market research. The advertising company, after doing research, then actually advertises by T.V., radio, and magazines. The last thing to do, when all of that is done, is to watch the profits rise. (Possibly)
So the next time you're sitting, and listening to your favorite CD, and not having a care in the world, remember, all that time, effort, and money that went into that CD.
