Would you like to start a fun business that can help thousands of children who need your services? We all know the rate of obesity is rising, particularly among kids and teenagers. With the obesity rate among children and teens approaching 25%, a business that can help kids solve their weight problems could be a big hit. Here's your chance to be a part of the solution and earn a hefty income at the same time.

Most adult health clubs have very strict requirements regarding how and when children can use exercise equipment. Why not start a fitness center designed specifically for kids? Your fitness center would be a hangout and activity center kids could call their own.

Your kid's fitness center employees would receive specialized training on how to train and coach kids to reach their fitness goals. You could also have a registered dietician on staff to provide nutritional counseling. The kids would also have access to a healthy snack bar with a variety of low fat, low sugar options designed specifically for the nutritional needs of young people. This creative business idea would surely be in demand with the millions of parents who want their kids to receive more exercise.

You would want to provide a variety of fun activities and classes designed with younger people in mind. Classes could be focused around activities favored by kids and would be enhanced by music preferred by younger people. Your fitness center would become a healthy hangout for kids to visit after school lets out in the afternoon. Parents would wholeheartedly endorse it for its role in keeping their child's weight under control.

With this creative business idea, you could also have a special room where kids could host parties for their friends with healthy food provided by an on-site cafe. Marketing to the party attendees would be a fabulous way to promote your fitness center. You could also market by doing joint ventures with the local schools and sponsoring some of their sporting events. Another effective marketing method would be to give talks to local civic organization on the growing problem of childhood obesity. Networking with pediatrician offices would be another potential source of referrals.

The ideal location for your new fitness center would be in a high traffic area adjacent to a school where you could draw from the school population. A big, highly visible sign that could easily be seen from the road should bring lots of inquiries and interest.

Your kid's fitness center could be a great problem solver in your community. You would be filling a well defined niche that's undeserved in most areas and solving a problem that's of great concern to many parents. Why not give this fun business idea a try?

10 Ways to Become a Fitness Icon

Here is what you need to do!

You have to be in the main stream media: such as magazines, television interviews, trained celebrities, books, newspaper articles, anything that we can see who you are

Do you have before and after weight losses? And not people that have only lost 10 pounds. People that have lost 40 to 60 pounds working out with you. Pictures, testimonials of how much you helped them.

What is your hook? Why would anyone want to do your program over everyone else's?

Have an entire plan worked out in Power Point presentation before you walk into a meeting because marketing people like to see pictures and not read through all the papers

And never say in a meeting that you are better then all the big Icons that are out there. Because in reality you're not at that point and we just laugh.

Do you have any celebrities that you have trained that would be willing to be a celebrity testimonial?

What is your fitness history and please make sure you're in good shape when you meet with the marking companies

Do your research of all the large fitness infomercial companies because bottom line they have seen everything and you have to be different!

Do not expect a call a week or three weeks later after meeting with an infomercial marketing company. Because once we meet you it takes us weeks to review who you are, what your brand is about and if it is something we want to do and it takes weeks not hours.

If you're a fitness person and you want to be the next big infomercial Icon then walk into a meeting happy, friendly and motivated!
