A job career that interests me the most is a computer operator. A computer operator makes sure that the computers are being used efficiently. Computer operators receive on-the-job training so that they could get use to the equipments. Most computer operators go through a community college, technical school, or through the U.S. Armed Force and other computer manufacturers. Most computer operators must be adaptable to the rapidly changing technology and must be able to work independently. The computer operator occupation is declining due to the advancement in technology. Some operators are expected to face competition for openings. The median annual earnings of computer operators were $33,560 in May 2006.

Computer operators operate and manage the usage of the hardware system, mainframes, networks, minicomputers, and other types of system to see if they are working properly. They manage the equipment and manage monitor operations of a particular computer. They also respond to operating and computer messages. If a message error occurs, operators must find and try to solve what the error is and terminate it. Operators must maintain a logbook or records about the jobs run and events that occurred during their shift. Other operators performs different task such as backups, virus checking, software update and debug new programs.

Operators operate computers in well-lit, ventilated, and comfortable room. Some organization leaves the computers on 24 hours a day so these types of places are very good for computers, and operators to work. Because computer operators spends a lot of time in front of a computer, they may be susceptible to eyestrain, back discomfort, and hand and wrist problems.

Computer operators receive on-the-job training to gain experience and get use to the equipments. Computer operators go through a community college, technical school, or through the U.S. Armed Force. By obtaining a bachelor's degree you will be qualified for management or other advance position. Generally computer operator requires a high school degree and to be trained by employers on the job. Because of the rapidly change in technology computer operator have to be adaptable and willing to learn. The most important thing a computer operator must be able to do is work independently because there is little or no direct supervision.

The occupations for computer operators are declining due to the advancement in technology. Computers are replacing the operators now, but the operators are still needed to operate these machines. But if a worker is "bumped" from the job then he/she could become a different operator such as networking or administrating jobs. Others could still be training to supervise, analyze, or maintain various computer operations and software package development.

Experienced operators are expected to face off in a competition for job openings. By having formal computer education, familiarity with a variety of operating system, and knowledge of the latest technology, there will be opportunities for that operator.

The annual earnings of a computer operator were $33,560 in May of 2006. 50 percent earned $25,990 to $43,060 per year. The highest 10 percent earned more than $51,970, and the lowest 10 percent earned less than $20,510.

Working as a computer operator is hard work. There are a lot of requirements and endorsement. Dealing with the customer is the hardest part of the job. On-the-job trainings are the best because you get a chance to understand what all the equipments and technology do. The computer operators with previous experience or education in computer or system-oriented fields are most likely to be qualified for the job. There are other occupations involving work with computers include computer software engineers; computer programmers; computer support specialist and systems administrators; computer systems analysts, and computer scientists and database administrators. Other occupations in which workers operate electronic office equipment include data entry and information processing workers and secretaries and administrative assistants.

An interview is a structured conversation or dialogue with a specific purpose. The primary purpose of the interview was to enhance the understanding of what contributes to effective instruction in system development. This is by identifying distinguishing characteristics and behaviors of instructors who perform at a high level on the system requirements.

More specifically, the following research questions were addressed to ensure the quality of a current system. Guided by these research questions, the interview attempted to identify characteristics and behaviors exhibited by both average and exemplary instructors and the discrete characteristics.

This process also involves behaviors that differentiate the quality of a new system from the current system. On the other hand, the findings from the interview are useful for helping to establish a framework for recruitment and selection, performance assessment for the system development.

Besides that, analyst can motivate the respondent to answer freely and openly from the interview. Then, analyst can probe for additional information and feedback to improve the quality of the current system. Analyst can easily observe nonverbal communication channels and probe for additional information and feedback. The additional information and feedback from the interview is useful to specify the quality of the development on the current system that is being used by the users.

Interview purpose is to get data or valuable information from the user. It is important that, the interview respondent can more easily developed a sense of active contribution to the proposed system.
