E Books

I have over 100 e books for sale on the Internet and I would say half of them are selling, the most profitable e book that I am selling is about making it in the music industry. I am selling that for pennies but getting some good money from it. I have a few e books on relationships and also on other weired and wonderful things. I am using social networking sites, message boards and free advert websites to sell my books plus mailing lists that I have built up over the years. The income that I get from e books I store in a high interest savings account so the interest is growing on a monthly basis.

I am a member of several content writing websites including Triond, I try to write something new daily for submission, the more content the more money made. I use face book and My space to share my content and so far I am doing pretty well from it. The key though is perseverance, plus you have to make sure that what you are writing about people actually want to read it.

Blogging

I have several blogs that are getting a lot of readers, one of my blogs is about music, one of my most recent blogs is about Big Brother, which is really big in the UK at the moment so people are really flocking to that page. I am sure most of you know that how you make money through blogging is mainly Google ad sense. The more people that go to your page more the more likely it is that you will earn good money from it.

PR and Promotions

My main living is PR and promotions, I am currently representing a few up and coming artists and in addition to this I am booking emerging talent to perform at events and this is getting me a pretty good pay cheque. I use half of this money to live on and half of the money I save. All the money that comes from Internet work I save so the money is steadily building up and by the end of the year I should have that million pounds if I work at it. This might seem very understandable, but there have been a great many stores that did not do very well because of their location.

On the Internet, there are hundreds of ways to meet new people and make new friends, but when setting up a network you really need to fill it with people that will bring the results that you are expecting. You can always build more than one network with each focused on your other interests.

To setup a network using the Internet, all one really needs is a working email address (it is suggested that you use a secondary email address and avoid using your primary email address for networking purposes). Once you have established an email address to use for your network, then you need to join a forum, social network “MySpace or Facebook” (for example) or start playing live action games, where there are other players that you can communicate with while playing the games together.

You need to locate places where you will be able to meet the type of people that your network needs to have a solid foundation and yield the results that meets or exceeds you're marketing expectation.

Networking is all about people and any successful Networker will tell you the importance to be where people are and if you are not where people are, then move yourself to the places that they are at. Do not expect people to seek you out to join your network. It's your network, so you should be the “Seeker”.

If you ever meet a person that you feel uncomfortable being around and no matter how important you think the person, just pass on adding those types of people to any network that you might start. It is always more important that you put your safety first and move yourself to a safe well-lit place. If the person is on the Internet, just change your email or avoid the places where this person knows who you are.

If you are employed and you are able to invite your fellow co-workers to visit your website and read your writings is an excellent marketing opportunity. However, always make sure that you have permission from your employer, before you ever start marketing your writing at your workplace. Some employers do not allow these kinds of self-promotions, but some still do and may allow you to do so on your own time, just as long as you have asked your boss in advance.

School and college students have an excellent opportunity to reach hundreds or thousands of potential readers by networking to the student masses that are attending their school(s). Passing out business card or posting flyers on public bulletin boards are great places to start, but attracting the attention of the student newspaper staff would be an even better place to get your name out there in a very big way. If handled correctly, then you might be news enough to get interviewed by the school's newspaper and have your website address published, so that the entire student body will have easy access to the information.

Church is another great place to meet great people and kindly introduce yourself and your writings to those people that you fellowship with each week. Do not go to church only to promote your work to other Christians, but wait until the service is over and maybe in the parking lot or out in the hallway you can pass the business card that you should always have on hand to pass out.

Pass out your business cards and/or flyers when visiting your bank or credit union, as these places will usually have a bulletin board, so bank or credit union members can post a flyer or business card for other member's to see. When visiting a local coffee café or eatery, then another good idea would be to leave a couple of your business cards laying near any computer bays or pay phones. Leaving a couple of business cards on the table or counter that you were sitting at is an excellent way to introduce yourself to strangers and you never know, some of them may actually become curious enough to visit your website and stay long enough to read your writings.

Word of mouth is the best form of advertising and these ideas are where it usually starts.

Do you write about automobiles or extreme sports, if so, then you should be targeting an audience that would be interested in reading what you have written about these subjects. Joining a few forums that are focused on these subjects is one of the best and most direct ways to meet other people who are likely to read your articles or blogs about the subjects that you are writing about.

Besides, joining forums you can setup a MySpace or Facebook account and begin using these services as an extension of your marketing networks. These social networks already have millions of members who gather into their own specialized groups that are commonly found within these communities and joining these groups will help you meet those people that are part of the audience that your articles are targeting.

Another fantastic way to attract a growing audience is to write a few articles for a free article website, because what you do not earn in income - you will gain in exposure. The reason is because these free article and free content services cater to e-zines, magazines, bloggers and others that may have hundreds or millions of readers, who have subscribed to receive these publications. This marketing tactic gives a writer much needed exposure to different audiences that they may not have ever reached otherwise.

To become a successful Internet content writer, one must take the time to know who they are writing there articles, stories, and poetry for, and have some marketing plans in place to reach their targeted audience quickly. Now, so, the internet marches on and us with it. Is all this good for people? You bet it is. An effective pen name should be easy to remember and equally easy to spell. Using numbers in place of letters isn't very smart, because numbers are much harder to remember than letters. Search engines may not recognize a numbered pen name as quickly as pen names using letters and if the search engines do not record the pen name that is chosen, then future marketing efforts will be much harder to execute.

Authors who use their real name or a combination of first, last, middle or nick name to make a pen name generally perform better in the longrun. Creating a pen name using foreign languages are less effective in a mostly English speaking environment, because many times the pen name created uses too many letters and are not easily remembered. On the other hand, if creating a pen name using the English language for a foreign speaking audience, then this will not be an effective choice either.

Pen names and screen names are not the same thing. In most situations on the Internet where screen names are used it is fine to create a name using a combination of letters and numbers, because usually when participating in forums or social networks the members are consistently active within the communities. Thus, the screen names are being marketed with every forum reply and conversion that the members are involved in.

When writing for an income the pen name used should be created with your audience in mind. The only time when your audiences are made aware of your pen name is when they discover your published works online. It is not the same thing as participating in forum conversations, because the writers are not writing for a closed network space like the social networks that are available on the Internet.

If an author writes specifically on a single subject such as; technology or cars, and then creates a pen name that reflects their expertise on that subject, then this would be more effective than using a more common birth name. However, if a writer creates a pen name such as; Tech Guy or Car Collector, but then starts writing articles about other subjects not directly related to their pen name, then this could create unnecessary confusion. Confusing your audience is not a good thing to do, ever.

So, when creating a pen name is concerned, it is very smart to really think about your audience, the topics that you are writing about and whether the pen name is easy to spell and remember. Do not use numbers, because they are not easy to remember. If the pen name isn't easy to remember, then that means that it is too easy to forget and you cannot build a solid reputation for yourself on the Internet and your income will suffer for it, too.
