Information Marketing

If you are a writer you are an information marketer. You sell and resell information.

When you write articles, you are making use of information. When you sell or resell those articles, you are selling and reselling information.

If you use the articles in books and/or adapt those articles as books and ebooks and sell and resell those works you are again selling and reselling information.

If you allows others to sell or resell your articles or books by signing up with Clickbank and/or giving them the resell or reprint rights then again you and your affiliates are selling and reselling information.

You of course must rewrite to improve how this information in marketed. You must rewrite to update this information.

However, you are an information marketer.

The product that you are selling is information, and this information is put into a salable form--an article, an ebook, a book, a CD, a CD-Rom.

Information can be made into video, audio, software. These are also forms of marketing information.

If you are an idea person, good at working with ideas, good at thinking, good at putting ideas into writing, into video, into audio, into software, then information marketing is your type of marketing.

Once you have the information in this form, then you can place your articles on websites that buy web content, you can distribute your books and ebooks via your own websites, via affiliate websites, via distributors. You can self-publish and/or publish with commercial presses.

If you like working with ideas, and information, and like keeping up-to-date information, like doing research, like this type of work, and especially like selling digital information products to products like candy or toys or VMC satellite TVs, although you like writing about and reviewing these products, including writing about the stores and companies that sell these products, then consider becoming an information marketer.

Workshops, Seminars, and Trade Shows

Among the strategies for attracting customers and potential customers, whether to published books or products like toys, candy, or jewelry, there are marketing strategies that include workshops, seminars, and trade shows.

You can have "free" workshops, seminars, and trade shows, where the customers and/or potential customers do not have to pay a fee, but when they attend the workshop, seminar or trade shows free, you include books and products that they might want to buy. For a workshop or seminar, you might make the books required reading, however, there is no fee beyond purchasing the books.

If you have a workshop or seminar in jewelry making, those who attend the workshop or seminar are required to purchase the beads and gems and other jewelry manufacturing tools, but there is no fee to attend the workshop or seminar.

There is no fee to attend your "candy trade show," for example, but people purchase the candy that you and other trade show merchants sell. This would be the same marketing strategy for other types of trade shows--e.g. foods, wines, toys, inventions, etc.

You can also include a small token fee to attend the workshops, seminars, and/or trade shows, with other monies coming from buying the products.

You can also charge fees based upon whether the marketing is business to customer or business to business.

A trade show, for example, might charge businesses a fee to be included in the trade show, but for the potential customers the trade show is free or there is a token fee, but most of the money for the trade show is paid by the businesses to attend the trade show.

This is the same marketing strategy with workshops and seminars that are business to business; you might charge a higher fee than business to customer workshops and seminars, as with consultants who often charge a higher fee with consulting with businesses.

For workshops, seminars and trade shows, make sure that all of your products are quality products. You can have products custom-designed by well-established manufacturing companies or manufacture the quality products yourself, including quality arts and crafts. For books, you can sell your self-publications along with products from established commercial publishers.

Effective Selling Methods

The best way to evaluate different methods of promotion in marketing is whether or not the methods are effective for your type of business.

What product and/or service are you marketing?

For example, if you're selling used books? What is the most effective method of selling used books?

Make a list of the effective selling methods?

Consignment shop
Sell online via Amazon.com, Ebay.com
Sell at flea markets/yard sells
Sell via your own website
Sell through online classified ads
Affiliate sales
Commissions sales

If you have very little in an advertising budget, then try to no cost or low cost advertising first. You should try the various means of promotion and find out which is the most effective for your type of product and according to your advertising, marketing, and promotions budget.

Once you find the most effective selling methods for your products, then you should focus on these. Of course, you can continue the other sales methods, but most of your sells work should be in the areas in which you are most effective.

Should you want to work in the other areas of sales and promotions, then you can hire according to your budget experts in these areas. For example, if you're most effective in writing classified ads for online and print markets, then you should focus on this method of sales.

If you know others who are effective at selling via consignment shops and/or retail sales then you should contact these experts. Instead of doing this work yourself, and you're not effective at this type of sales, then contact the experts.

Make a list of experts in commissions sales
Make a list of experts in consignment shopping
Make a list of expert in affiliate sales
Make a list of experts at product and business promotions article writing
Make a list of expert webmasters, for link exchanges

You should handle the aspects of your marketing in which you are the expert, and focus on this, then you can hire others, especially commissions and affiliate marketers who can work with you on the other forms of marketing.

How to Become a Reseller

What is a reseller? A reseller is a business professional, online or offline, who buys products at a lower cost and resells them at a higher cost.

For example, many people who work in association with Ebay are reseller. Some business people for example buy products at yard and garage sales for a lower price and resells these products on Ebay for a higher price. This is a reseller.

You can also buy products at Ebay for a lower price and then resell them at your yard and garage sales for a higher price.

You can buy products at discount and/or wholesale prices and resell them.

Resellers can also be affiliates of companies that sell products that you receive a commission on. These are also resellers. A commission is a form of "discount."

If you're interested in being a reseller working online, then you make a list of companies that sell products and a list of companies that buy those products. If the companies sell products for a cheaper price than the buyers, then you can become an online reseller.

Let's say you buy CDs, DVDs, and used textbooks at a discount from a certain online company, then can resell them at a higher price at another online company, then you are an online reseller.

Let's say you buy used CDsat Amazon.com for $2, find another online company available to buy used CDs for $4, then you make $2 per used CD.

You can also make a list of consignment, used textbooks and used products in your region. You can buy these products and resell on Ebay and/or Amazon.com. And/or you can buy products from these and/or other online stores that also sell used, discount, and/or wholesale products. Again, you are a reseller.

Retail stores are also reseller, in that they buy products at a cheaper price than they sell the products for. All sales is generally reselling, whether the products are new, used, or reconditioned.

Even wholesalers and discount sales people must buy their products at lower costs in order to make money in resales. So if you find the cost per pencil is .50 it's like the wholesale got the pencils for .25 each. This is resales.

To find a product to resale, find a product that you think that your customers want to buy. What products is that? You can ask your customers What products are you seeking and at what price do you want to buy these products?

This is a sales question that all sales people can ask their customers. Retail stores can also ask this questions.

If you have problems selling products, then ask your customers, what types of products are they seeking?

For example, when fast food stores find out that there are customers for organic, vegan, or healthier styles of foods--what do these food resellers do? They start offering more healthier styles of fast foods, including salads. They change the type of oils they put in their fast foods. They have discount prices on fast foods.

Customers are not always right, nevertheless, when customers are correct, are right, then sales professionals should listen to them.
